Childhood development is a process which prepares children to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood through a progressive series of activities and experiences which help them to become socially, morally, physically, and cognitively competent. Village Square Learning’s positive proactive initiatives address the broader developmental needs of children, in contrast to deficit-based models which focus solely on youth problems. Elements of our plan promoting positive development of children include:

- Experienced and certified teachers recruited and selected from the local university education and professional studies programs, will be delivering NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) certified program content in a technologically contemporary environment which uniquely positions us to be successful at meeting the needs of our families.

- Village Square Learning incorporates a technologically influenced space where children will be nurtured and supported in an environment reflective of the hi-tech era they live in. This approach lends itself well as a teaching mechanism to arouse student curiosities. Classrooms and outdoor learning spaces are organized according to development level (Infants to Kindergarten) to facilitate developmentally appropriate play.

What is Village Square Learning Code of Ethical Conduct?
VILLAGE SQUARE LEARNING recognizes that many daily decisions required of those who work with young children are of a moral and ethical nature. VILLAGE SQUARE’s Code of Ethical Conduct offers guidelines for responsible behavior and sets forth a common basis for resolving the principal ethical dilemmas encountered in early childhood care and education. The primary focus is on daily practice with children and their families in programs for children from birth through 12 years of age. Many of the provisions also apply to specialists who do not work directly with children, including program administrators, parent and vocational educators, college professors, and child care licensing specialists.

Village Square Learning hours of operation is Monday-Friday from 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Hours of service for 2nd and 3rd Shift is available upon request.
What Age Groups Does Village Square Learning Enroll?
Village Square Learning currently accepts infants from six weeks old to children 13 years of age.
What is Village Square Learning’s Enrollment Process?
These are the process highlights:
- Initial Contact/Visit: Prospective Village Square Learning Families schedule an initial visit Our Program administrator and/or director will provide a tour of our facility, and explain more about our program, enrollment process and required registration material.
- Information session: Families will be briefed on all necessary documents required to complete the enrollment process.
- Decision: Upon making a service decision, Families will gather and provide required documents to the program administrator.
- Registration: Upon receipt of the required documents, the program administrator will contact the Family within two (2) business days to schedule a meeting to review the documentation, complete the service agreement, and schedule transition periods and the first day of service.
What Are Village Square Learning’s Rates?
Village Square Learning offers a flexible scheduling model that enables families to fit service to their lifestyles. To facilitate this, fees and costs across families are non-uniform since they are based on each child’s age/developmental stage, days, and hours service is required. Village Square Learning provides families a calendar to reserve their service schedules. Therefore, tuition and fees vary according to each family’s service needs.
Does Village Square Learning Accept Third-Party Payees?
Yes.
Village Square Learning currently accepts various third-party and sponsor payments. This includes Employer funded programs, Federal, State, and Community organization sponsorships. Each entity/program’s funding covers the cost of service up to its pre-defined limits. Families may be responsible for additional service costs in excess of each program’s funding limits as described and outlined in their Village Square LLC service agreement.
How do I schedule Village Square Learning services?
Monthly schedules are submitted before the first of each month. Weekly updates must be received no later than the preceding Friday for the upcoming week. Schedules may be submitted via email, or Brightwheel.
Payment Responsibility
When:
Payment for scheduled service is due on the FIRST DAY of your requested service period each week. Payment may be rendered in person by check, or online. If payment is not received by close of business on the last service day of the requested schedule, the autopay function initiates to satisfy the existing account balance. The late payment fee of $35 is also assessed.
Where:
Our accounting application allows families to maintain multiple payment sources and types. There are five (5) customer managed payment sources/types. The system is available to you 24/7 for you to manage your account and account information.
Absences:
Unless Village Square Learning has initiated and published a program closing, Families are responsible for the schedule of services reserved, and therefore all charges and fees related to that reserved schedule service period, weather attended in full or in part according to the submitted schedule request. Absences due to inclement weather, Berkeley County Public School scheduled/unscheduled closings, or illness do not reduce tuition.
What is Village Square Learning’s Emergency Response Protocol?
Will I have To Provide Lunch for My Child?
Village Square Learning provides all meals and snacks for our students during the day. Families requiring medically mandated or specific nutrition diets will provide/bring meals. Some restrictions apply. Parents will also provide baby formula, baby food, or breast-milk for their infants.
What Other Items Will My Child Need For The Day?
Infants and Toddlers need multiple changes of clothes, diapers or pull-ups, sunscreen, diaper rash ointment. Families can choose to bring a set of diapers and wipes to leave on-site, and refill the items as needed. Families are informed of supplies needed on the daily reports. Can My Toddler Still Be Considered For Enrollment If They Are Not Fully Potty Trained?
Village Square Learning works to support families throughout the entire development continuum of children. This includes the potty training process. We work with families to develop a toileting strategy appropriate for each child. This includes Families maintaining a current record/schedule of their toddler’s potty visits. Parents can expect to provide additional clothing/supplies during this process.
Does Village Square Learning Have A Preschool Program?
Village Square Learning facilitates a learn through play atmosphere to prepare toddlers in their formative years through to kindergarten. Our ever evolving curriculum is in line with the standards outlined in the Berkeley County Department of Education guidelines. As needed, Village Square Learning offers transportation for Pre-K students to and from the WV Head Start campuses. Currently, the Pre-K school bus picks up, and drops off at the end of our driveway.
What Kind Of Services Do You Provide For School-agers?
Village Square Learning offers an included academic enrichment program. Breakfast Club and Scholar’s Club forms the core of our B4 & After school care program. It involves a study support program tied to each student’s school curriculum.
Outside of school hours our Scholars Club program includes educational field-trips, and daily individual homework and subject-tutoring assistance. On occasion, we are able to support families who need children transported to/from extra-curricular activities.
